Taking place on October 25, 2019 at the Toronto Design Exchange, IT@CA boasts a lineup of renowned speakers highlighting the best that Italy has to offer. The speakers represent many different industries and will appeal to the event’s wide range of attendees regardless of background, occupation or areas of interest.
IT@CA’s format will allow each speaker to share their background and experiences with the audience before ultimately participating in a roundtable discussion moderated by CBC’s Rome correspondent, Megan Williams. The event itself will be hosted by TV personality, Laura Albanese. The cast of speakers will include:
- Michele De Lucchi (Architecture & Design) – Renowned architect and prominent figure in stylistic movements like Alchimia and Memphis. He was the editor-in-chief of Domus;
- Rosanna Purchia (Culture) – Superintendent of the San Carlo Theatre in Naples;
- Riccardo Illy (Entrepreneurship) – Italian businessman who first launched the illy Caffè global sales force and Chairman of Polo del Gusto Srl;
- Angelo Gaja (Wine) – Owner and President of Gaja Winery in the Piemonte region of Italy;
- Oscar Farinetti (Investment) – Founder and creator of Eataly, the first supermarket dedicated to the Italian high-quality foods;
- Oliviero Toscani (Photography) – Italian photographer internationally known as the creative force behind the most famous newspapers and brands in the world such as Esprit, Chanel, and many more;
- Antonio Meloni (Science) – President of the National Scientific Committee for Antarctica (CSNA)
