G.It Past Events

January 25th, 2019 – Meeting with Hon. Ahmed Hussen

On Friday January 25th 2019 the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario (ICCO) together with the G.It (Gruppo Italia) had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Hon. Ahmed Hussen. Also part of the meeting were three Members of Parliament: Hon. Marco Mendicino, Hon. Judy Sgro and Hon. Francesco Sorbara. During the meeting the topic of immigration was discussed and participants were able to tell their stories and ask important questions that had been prepared ahead of time. This meeting was a great opportunity to discuss different topics such as some of the difficulties Italian companies encountered when trying to bring skilled/not skilled labor from Italy to Canada, or the problems they faced with a quite complicated system. Both Minister Hussen and the three MP’s were very informative and the discussion will continue soon. The G.It intends to create a table on immigration in order to help Italian companies to hire foreign workers and to facilitate the circulation of students with a working visa.
