Ron Farano Mentorship Program
The ICCO Forward Mentorship Program is the linkage of mentees with more experienced mentors with common interests and/or industry affiliation. The objective is to create a bridge between generations and to provide an opportunity for personal, professional and cultural growth. The scope is to create a more defined path for the mentee to follow for professional development with the aid of a committed and passionate mentor.
Who can be a mentor?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in his/her field
- Leader in his/her field
- Should have active links to professional and business networks
- Commitment and passion to mentor
What is expected in mentors?
- Mentors are asked to dedicate scheduled time to communicate with their mentees for a minimum of once per month
- To listen, be supportive and coach and counsel and take an active interest in the mentee’s professional and personal development
- A willingness to share personal experiences
- Work with the mentees in creating a Career Development Plan
- Pairs should formally communicate for a period of one year

Who can be a mentee?
- Member of ICCO Forward
- Mandatory submission of a CV and a clear statement of mentorship objective
- Participate in a phone interview with a member of the selection committee
- Selection by the standing committee, if in the opinion of the standing committee, there is an adequate match between the prospective mentee and a mentor
The Mentorship Relationship
- One year commitment by both parties
- Monthly meeting via phone or in person
- Professional courtesy and integrity
