Letter From the CO-CHAIRS
To be successful, an organization must continually adapt to the rapidly changing contexts of commerce, business and global policy. Part of this progression at the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario is the recent creation of ICCO Forward, a dynamic new division of the Chamber designed for people under 40.
ICCO Forward is committed to forging links between members of different generations and finding ways to maintain the Chamber’s relevance for young professionals. Its objectives, among others, include the promotion of economic and cultural ties between businesses and individuals both locally and worldwide.
Since its inception in 2009, the standing committee of ICCO Forward has grown to include more than two dozen young professionals. It has formed sub-committees dedicated to expanding community outreach, organizing innovative events and business development opportunities, and establishing a mentorship program as a resource for members and non-members alike. This mentorship program, like other initiatives of ICCO Forward, is being met with great interest.
To formally launch many of the initiatives described above, and to showcase what the organization has to offer, ICCO Forward will host a Kick-off Event, scheduled for September 23, 2010. After months of hard work, ICCO Forward is excited to introduce itself to other Chamber members and the community at large at this event. The high level of energy and enthusiasm that has come to define ICCO Forward will lend itself to an entertaining evening, so be sure to mark September 23 in your calendars.
